ACLU Supports Pastor's Right Of Free Speech
DEARBORN (WWJ) - The American Civil Liberties Union says the Rev. Terry Jones has the US Constitution on his side.
WWJ Newsradio spoke with Rana Elmir of the American Civil Liberties Union.
"The government can not interfere with an individual's freedom of speech because it doesn't agree with the message that they are sending or because of the reactions of others," says Elmir.
The ACLU asked the judge to dismiss the Wayne County prosecutor's suit--no matter how the jury decides. But the judge declined the request.
