REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Police are investigating an accident Wednesday morning along I-96 that left one man injured.

Several witnesses told State Police troopers that the man jumped in front of a semi truck, and then an armored car, along I-96 eastbound near Beech Daley, when he was struck in an apparent suicide attempt.

Police were trying to confirm their stories, later Wednesday.

The victim was alive when emergency crews arrived. He was taken to Botsford Hospital for treatment.

The eastbound lanes of I-96 were closed at Inkster Road during the morning commute, but have since reopened.
