About $90 Million Worth Of Loot Seized
Detroit Police announced Wednesday that they've tripled the amount of drugs and cash taken off the streets this year over last year.
The value of drugs, cash, weapons, and other items seized so far this year is $89 million. And Police Chief Ralph Godbee detailed yet another significant raid on the city's east side that took place on Tuesday.
"This seizure netted one firearm - a 9 mm handgun, ten vehicles - seven passenger vehicles, and three motorcycles, 1.3 pounds of cocaine with a street value of about $5,700, 1200 grams of marijuana with a street value of approximately $2.2. million," said Godbee.
And he says some of the money will go towards their enforcement efforts and will also be used for community programs.
