97.1 The Ticket Hosts Crack The 'Heavy Hundred'

DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) You want talk, sports talk, and lots of it?

You're in luck. The editors of Talkers Magazine, the Bible of talk radio stations across the country, ranked their "Heavy Hundred" -- the most important sports radio hosts in America -- and fans of 97.1 The Ticket will notice some familiar names.

Valenti & Foster, Karsch & Anderson, and Stoney & Bill were all in the top 20 on the prestigious list, with Valenti & Foster at #5, Karsch & Anderson at #9, and Stoney & Bill at #20.

The magazine said hosts were ranked on a number of "hard and soft" factors, including ratings and revenue, and some intagibles.

"Those qualities include: courage, effort, impact, recognition, service, talent and uniqueness," according to the editors.

They added: "The editors also took into account other qualities that help create a list that is reflective of the industry's diversity and total flavor and still give credit where credit is due."
