90-Year-Old's Holiday Display Shines As Tribute To Late Wife [VIDEO]
WEST BRANCH TWP., (WWJ/AP) - A 90-year-old man's elaborate holiday lighting display at his rural home in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula illuminates the night as a tribute to his late wife.
Arthur Galea, patriarch of the G's Pizzeria franchise, sets up the display each year at his home in Ogemaw County's West Branch Township in honor of Sharon, his wife of 63 years who died in 2010.
Galea said his wife "always did Christmas perfectly ... Every tree, every ornament, every present she wrapped was just perfect."
The display includes nearly 400,000 lights -- inside and out with decorations throughout his home.
"I don't do this just to give my neighbors something beautiful to look at," Galea told the Bay City Times. "I do this for her. I know she's looking down on it with a smile."
