85-Year Old Woman Dies In Housefire In Kentwood
GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - An 85-year-old woman has died after a fire at a house in Kentwood, near Grand Rapids.
Paramedics spent about 20 minutes giving Mayetta Colbert CPR cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the home's front lawn, but couldn't revive her.
Colbert was hard of hearing and was trapped in the home when fire crews arrived. It says rescuers pulled her from the second story.
The medical examiner's has been asked to investigate, and arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
