8 Fire Departments Respond To Blaze At Apartment Complex
MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Firefighters in Madison Heights relied on the aid of seven surrounding fire departments to help extinguish an overnight blaze at an apartment complex.
Investigators say the fire broke out around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at The Heights apartment complex on East 13 Mile Road near Dequindre.
Officials say the fire began in a second-story townhouse and quickly went to two alarms.
A cause of the fire has not yet been determined, although reports say it started as a chimney fire. No one was injured.
The American Red Cross is now assisting families who were displaced by the fire.
An investigation is ongoing.
