6 Family Members Charged In Macomb County Drug Ring
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - Three generations of a Macomb County family are charged with selling cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, K2 and hydrocodone out of a pair of Shelby Township businesses.
The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office on Friday charged six members of the Dabish family with a host of felonies related to the drug ring.
Among those charged are 63-year-old mother Faize Dabish, of West Bloomfield; her sons 39-year-old David Dabish, 35-year-old Dabish Dabish, both of West Bloomfield, and 31-year-old Derick Dabish, of Sterling Heights; and her grandsons 18-year-old Audrick Dabish and 17-year-old Dedrick Dabish, both of Sterling Heights.
Police and prosecutors allege that the drug enterprise operated from the Dabish's Shelby Township Citgo gas station and their nearby Woodstock Smoke Shop. Both businesses are on Van Dyke near 23 Mile Road.
The charges are the result of a months-long multi-jurisdictional investigation by Shelby Police and the DEA. From search warrants executed on Dabish businesses, residences and storage facilities, officers recovered hundreds of packages of suspected illegal controlled substances, as well as records related to those substances.
"We won't tolerate K2 within our county's borders," Prosecutor Eric Smith said in a release. "We will take down anyone who attempts to distribute this insidious drug."
Shelby Police Chief Roland Woelkers applauded the department's narcotics detectives, who he said put an immense effort into the investigation over the past six months.
The defendants now face arraignment in 41-A District Court in Shelby Township.
