5 Arrested After 50 Person Brawl At Downriver Coney Island
TAYLOR (WWJ) - Five people are facing charges following a brawl that involved at least 50 people at a coney island restaurant in Taylor.
Police say 27-year old Greg Davis, of Romulus; 28-year old Joseph McQueen, of Taylor; 23-year old Michael Davis, of Garden City; and 39-year old James Hollars, of Westland, all pleaded not guilty to various disorderly conduct charges during an arraignment hearing on Monday.
McQueen is charged with assault and battery and disturbing the peace, Hollars is charged with interfering with police and incitement to riot, and both Davis' are charged with disturbing the peace.
A fifth person who was taken to the hospital after his arrest, identified only as a 21-year-old Taylor resident, is expected to be charged as well.
Police say the incident happened just after 3 a.m. Sunday at Leo's Coney Island on Telegraph Road, near Heritage Hospital, when a verbal argument that broke out between parties at two different tables escalated into a physical fight. Police said when officers arrived on the scene, they found about 50 people fighting inside the restaurant.
A cellphone video taken during the fight was posted on Facebook, but has since been removed.
