4 Mich. Men Killed In Accident In South Dakota
DETROIT (WWJ) - Four Michigan men have died and a fifth is clinging to life following a two-vehicle crash in South Dakota.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol say the deadly accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday near Aberdeen.
Police say the victims were traveling eastbound on Highway 20 when their vehicle, driven by 71-year-old Wesley Frasard of St. Clair Shores, failed to stop and was struck by a southbound traveling semi truck.
Frasard and three of his passengers -- 68-year-old Ledger Frasard Jr. and 77-year-old William Petrocy, both of St. Clair Shores, and 69-year-old Nikolaos Andreopoulos of New Baltimore -- were killed. Another passenger, 52-year-old Thomas Thorngate of St.Clair Shores, is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The semi truck driver, a 50-year-old North Dakota man, wasn't seriously hurt.
An investigation is ongoing. It wasn't immediately clear why the five Michiganers were in South Dakota.
