4 Charged In Connection With Dearborn Murder
DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police in Dearborn say four people have been arrested and charged with the murder of 45-year-old Hassan Jaber.
Over the weekend, police arrested 26-year-old Charles Jackson, 28-year-old Zelda Taylor, 28-year-old Iashia Knox and 28-year-old Kristen Holmes, all of Detroit. All are charged with felony murder, punishable by life in prison without the possibility of parole, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, both punishable by life or any number of years in prison.
Jaber was killed inside his home on Williamson Street, near Ford and Schaefer, on July 15. Police said Jaber was found with "some obvious trauma" although they would not elaborate.
A neighbor who found Jaber described him as a quiet man who worked in construction.
"I am extremely proud of the specialized and highly technical effort of the Detective Division. There was naturally a lot of community concern in this case and I want to commend the Dearborn and Detroit communities for the assistance we received in this investigation. Also, with these arrests it is our hope that the victim's family finds peace and closure for their loss," Dearborn Chief of Police, Ronald Haddad, said in a statement.
All four defendants will remain in the Wayne County Jail, having been denied bond. They are due back in court on August 3.
