4 Charged In Armed Robbery At Canton Apartments
CANTON (WWJ) - Four young metro Detroit men face the possibility of life in prison, suspected in an armed robbery in Canton.
According to Canton police, the crime happened Sunday, Nov. 3, at The Crossings apartment complex, southeast of Joy Road and I-275 near Warren.
Police were called to the location that night after two 18-year-old Westland men said they were robbed.
Charged in the case are Muhedin Danny Turkovic, age 17, of Canton; Alexander James Shippey, age 22, of Livonia; Joseph Charles Holland, age 18, of Canton; and Clary Dejuan Scott, Jr., age 17, of Detroit.
A police reported indicated the two victims may have gone to the apartment to buy drugs, but the young men initially denied that while talking to investigators.
Some money and a cell phone were taken but no serious injuries were reported. Police said threats were made that at least one of the victims would be shot unless he cooperated.
All four were arraigned Tuesday in 35th District Court where Magistrate Frank Wren set bond for each at $10,000 cash.
They will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 15.
