4 Arrested After Refusing To Leave Detroit House Where Man Was Shot

DETROIT (AP) — Four men have been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting and police standoff in northwest Detroit.

Commander Elvin Barren tells WDIV-TV that a taxi driver brought a bleeding man Saturday morning to a police precinct.

From there, officers went to a home and saw blood at the rear door.

Sgt. Cassandra Lewis tells The Detroit News that officers "observed several people inside, but they refused to come out because they had just shot somebody."

It was not clear how officers eventually got into the house. Arrests were made four hours later and a shotgun was recovered. Two women also were taken into custody, but later released.

Barren says the shooting victim suffered wounds to his head and back. He was in critical condition at a hospital.
