Missing Baby Found After Dad Wrecks Car In Ohio
An infant who was the subject of an Amber Alert out of Michigan has been found after her father crashed his car during a police chase in northern Ohio.
Police Sergeant Mark Gajeski tells WWJ the father, Ronald Scott, and his month-old daughter Raven are are okay but were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
"We received information from the Ohio State Police that the vehicle that we were looking for, the 2008 Ford Expedition, was involved in a traffic accident in Freemont, Ohio. At that time they recovered the 11-month-old little girl that we've been looking for," Gajeski said.
Police say the girl was taken by her father from her daycare in Canton Township. Troopers in Ohio spotted the vehicle and stopped it before the driver took off and later crashed on the turnpike.
Gajeski said Ronald Scott will most likely face fleeing and eluding charges in Ohio. He believes Scott was on his way to Maryland, where his family lives.
Police say the girl's father shares custody with the mother and has been going through some domestic problems. But, Gajeski said no kidnapping charges will be filed against the father because there were no custody issues.
