3 Teens Held In Pontiac Home Invasion
PONTIAC (WWJ) - Police say alert neighbors helped capture one of three teenagers who broke into a Pontiac home just after midnight.
The situation unfolded early Tuesday morning at a home in the 400 block of W. Fairmount, just off of Dixie Highway and West Kennett Road.
The 41-year-old homeowner told police that three people entered his home and held him at gunpoint while his 11-year-old daughter slept upstairs. The crooks then apparently ransacked the home, stealing several items.
As the trio was leaving, the victim and several alert neighbors detained one of the suspects until police arrived. That suspect then led deputies to the whereabouts of the other two suspects, who were then arrested.
Deputies searched the area and found stolen items, two laptops and an XBOX, hidden in some bushes, along with a semi-automatic handgun that is believed to have been used in the crime.
One suspect, a 16-year-old girl, is being held at Children's Village pending a hearing. The other two suspects, a 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old girl, are being held at the Oakland County Jail pending arraignment.
