3 Suspected Thieves Nabbed After Routine Stop
WATERFORD (WWJ) - Two Waterford Township women and a Pontiac man have been arrested for stealing more than $1000 worth of clothes, IPods, and an Air Soft Gun from the Meijer's store in Waterford Twp.
The trio may also face charges of eluding police. According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, a patrolling sergeant made a traffic stop, and the driver, a 31-year-old black male ran away.
When the sergeant gave chase, the two women who were said to be hiding during the stop, drove away.
The two women a white 50-year-old who was the driver, and a white 49- year-old were found two-hours later during a routine area check.
They told police the male was waiting to be picked up at a self- serve car wash on Oakland Avenue in Pontiac, where he was arrested.
It was also discovered that the man had valid warrants for his arrest for stealing a car and retail fraud. One of the two females also had traffic warrants out of Waterford for her arrest.
All three suspects have extensive criminal histories.
The three remain at Oakland County Jail pending warrants and arraignment.
