3 Seriously Injured In Drive-By Shooting On Detroit's East Side
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for the gunman who opened fire on an SUV, seriously injuring three people on the city's east side.
The situation unfolded early Friday morning at Algonquin Street and Forest Avenue, near Warren Avenue and Connor Street. Sgt. Michael Woody said a black Dodge Ram pulled up next to a red Ford Explorer and the gunman started shooting. Other circumstances remain unclear.
Woody said a 34-year-old man was shot in the head and forearm, a 33-year-old woman was shot in thumb and neck, and a 31-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks. All three victims were rushed to local hospitals in temporary-serious condition.
A resident, who only wanted to be identified as Sean, told WWJ's Mike Campbell that he heard about eight gunshots and saw the victims in front of his house.
"All I know is I just heard gunfire and when I came to the window, I seen people crawling out the car and I helped two people. And that's all I know, really," he said.
Woody said investigators are looking for at least one suspect, possibly two, driving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck.
