3 Reasons Leyland's Latest Outburst Wasn't A Bad Thing
Three reasons Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland's outburst following the Tigers' 7-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox Monday wasn't necessarily a bad thing:
1. The umpires did get the call wrong, and it did lead to three Red Sox runs. Boston won the game by three runs. The umpires do need to be held, as Leyland said, "accountable" for their performance. It was bad mistake.
2. It showed the Tiger players Leyland is willing to stand up for them publicly when they have been jobbed.
3. It's good to see genuine reaction from anybody in baseball. It's what Leyland really felt about the matter, and he said it. Good for him.
