3 Injured After Truck Crashes Into SMART Bus
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police say three people were injured in a serious accident involving a SMART bus in Oakland County.
The incident happened Thursday morning on Orchard Lake Road between 11 Mile Road and I-696 in Farmington Hills.
Police say the bus was traveling northbound when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck. Other circumstances surrounding the accident weren't immediately disclosed.
WWJ Traffic Reporter Bill Szumanski was over the scene in Chopper 950.
"It's a large commuter bus and the entire back-end, the right rear corner of it is completely caved in. The front-end of the pickup truck is pretty much missing," he said.
The driver of the truck and two bus passengers were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The bus is currently blocking all northbound lanes on Orchard Lake Road. Police say the road will remain closed as they investigate the scene.
