3 Dog Owners Charged In Separate Pit Bull Attacks

Three Detroit-area dog owners have been charged with felonies in separate pit bull attacks. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced two counts each of dangerous animal causing serious injury charges Tuesday against 37-year-old Geoffrey Moore, 51-year-old Eugene Runco and 37-year-old Laura Langston.

Moore's charges stem from an Aug. 29 attack in Westland. A 39-year-old woman was injured by two dogs. One of her wounds required more than 50 sutures.

Runco was charged in a Sept. 23 attack in Dearborn Heights in which a 51-year-old woman suffered face, jaw and arm wounds from two dogs.

Langston was charged in a Sept. 25 attack on a 10-year-old girl and 75-year-old man in Dearborn Heights.

Worthy said these cases are taken very seriously.

"It's not something that we're going to shirk from. And if our 43 police agencies bring us cases of this type, we're certainly going to take it seriously and investigate, and prosecute when we can," Worthy said.

Prosecutors and police didn't know whether those charged had lawyers.
