2nd Woman Dies In Grand Blanc Apartment Shooting After Birth
GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A woman who gave birth after being shot at an apartment complex in Genesee County has died, the second person to die in the incident.
Grand Blanc police say 20-year-old Lyric Work was taken off life support Friday night, three days after the shooting at the leasing office at Grand Oaks Apartments near downtown Grand Blanc. .
Work's baby girl, Marley, was delivered seven weeks early by cesarean section. She's in stable condition.
Work worked in the leasing office with 45-year-old Tamara Johnson, who was killed Tuesday. Police say, Jacquelyne Tyson, who lived in the apartments, has been charged in the case. Investigators were trying to determine a motive.
Prosecutor David Leyton says the 54-year-old Tyson may have believed that people were entering her apartment without permission.
