$25K Reward Offered In Case Of Missing Westland Teens
WESTLAND (WWJ) -Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $25,000 reward for tips that would bring the safe return of 18-year-old Jake Kudla and 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish.
Two Westland teenagers haven't been seen since about 11 p.m. Sunday, when they left a relative's home on Detroit's east side. When Kudla didn't return from the trip, his family filed a missing persons report.
Late Monday night, Detroit Police impounded Kudla's 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, which was abandoned at an apartment at Beechwood and Linsdale, near Joy Road and I-96 on Detroit's west side.
When Westland Police ran Kudla's license plate as part of the missing persons report, they learned it had been found in Detroit.
Family members say police arrested two men who had items from the car in a nearby house, but Detroit Police would neither confirm nor deny the arrests. Reports say the boys were carrying a large amount of cash for unknown reasons when they disappeared.
The last call made from Jourdan's cell phone was at 11:11 p.m., the family said.
"There has been no activity on either of their cell phones since," Kudla's mother, Virgie, told The Detroit Free Press. "There has been no activity on either of their bank cards or bank accounts since. They've just kind of vanished."
Kudla is described as 6'-1," 280 lbs with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black/gold/ gray Air Jordans.
Bobbishis described as 6,' 201 lbs with has blue eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a gray and white shirt with white and gray Air Jordans.
The two boys are friends through Livonia Churchill High School, where Bobbish will be a senior in the fall and Kudla graduated from last year.
Friends and families have spent countless hours searching neighborhoods in Detroit and passing out flyers. But on Wednesday, police asked them not to search because authorities have gathered a task force to help with the search and they don't want them to interfere.
