$25,000 Reward Offered For Tips In Murder Of Taylor Clerk

TAYLOR (WWJ) - A hefty reward is now being offered for information that will help them find the killer of a cash advance store clerk.

Advance America Cash Advance, on Telegraph Road south of I-94 — where 30-year-old Gibraltar mom Chelsea Small was murdered earlier this week  — is offering a $25,000 reward  the tip that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Crime Stoppers is offering an additional $2,500.

Taylor Police Chief Mary Sclabassi said Small was shot and killed Tuesday, presumably by a customer she let into the cash checking business in Taylor.

Sclabassi said investigators have already received a ton of information, but they continue to look for more.

"We still need to identify this individual," Chief Sclabassi said. "Again, we suspect he is quite dangerous so we need some additional information in order to wrap this up."

Small's mother, Debi Kamin, said that she believes on a "mother's gut feeling" that her daughter knew her killer.

"It's a possibility that she's crossed paths with him," Kamin said. "I just feel that she was familiar with this person."

A vigil is being held Friday night by family and friends at the site where the crime happened.

Anyone with information on the crime or suspect is asked to call police at 734-287-6611. Tips can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, online at www.1800speakup.org, or by texting "CSM" and your tip to CRIMES (274637).
