$2,500 Reward Offered For Tips In West Side Detroit Killing
DETROIT (WWJ) - Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of up to $2,500 for tips in a murder last fall on Detroit's west side.
Dionycio Coach, who went by the nickname "Mase," was headed to pick up his girlfriend late the night of Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 when police say he got a phone call.
The caller, who hasn't been identified, asked Coach to meet him on 18th Street. Shortly after midnight, a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots in that area — between Poplar and Buchanan streets — and responding officers found Coach dead behind the wheel of his 2015 black Ford Edge.
Police said he'd been shot to death.
Coach, 27, was a graduate of Detroit City High, a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, and worked with Scorpion III for over two years winterizing homes.
His daughter Maci was born seven months after he died.
"You know who you are; you know what you did," said the victim's mother, Gerlanda Coach, surrounded by loved ones at a news conference. "I just don't know if you know what you did to me and my family, my children. I don't know if you understand what you took away from us. You took my child."
Crime Stoppers is hoping an anonymous tip will help solve this case.
