2 Michigan Bicyclists Killed In Accidents
TRAVERSE CITY (WWJ/AP) - Two bike riders have been hit and killed by drivers in northern Lower Michigan.
Kelly Ann Boyce, 29, died after being hit just before 2 a.m. Friday in Traverse City. In a separate incident, a 58-year-old Petoskey resident was killed following a car-bicycle accident in Oden Thursday afternoon.
In the Traverse City incident, police are looking for the driver of a dark SUV or pickup truck. They say the victim was struck from behind by the suspect's vehicle while riding her bike.
According to Traverse City police, Boyce was struck from behind while she was riding home from a performance featuring her husband, who is a musician. Police said she was dragged for two blocks tohe area where she was discovered by officers.
Investigators are looking for for the driver of a dark SUV or pickup truck that did not stop at the scene.
Meanwhile, Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin said Petoskey resident Daniel Adams was hit by a van driven by a 30-year-old man. The sheriff said that accident remains under investigation.
