2 Hurt In High-Speed Chase Crash

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two people are hospitalized after Detroit police say a driver, who they were pursuing, blew through a red light and hit a sedan.

It happened just after 2 p.m. Thursday in the area of Lyndon and Meyers on the city's west side. Officers stopped the mean in a van for a traffic violation but, according to police, he  suddenly took off.

The driver of the sedan, reported to be a 78-year-old man, was in critical condition Thursday evening. The driver of the van was in serious condition.

No names have been released.
