2 Dead After Police Chase Ends In Crash
DETROIT (WWJ) -- Two people are dead following an early morning police chase in Detroit on Monday.
Detroit police say that a speeding car prompted what should have been a routine traffic stop, but quickly turned into a chase.
Sergeant Cassandra Lewis said that the man was driving a 2015 Dodge Challenger the wrong way down 6 Mile Rd. just after midnight with a woman in the passenger seat.
When trying to get away police, authorities said the man ran over lawns and tree stumps before eventually smashing into the tree, killing both occupants whose names have not been released.
