2 Dead After Gunman Shoots Into Party Bus
PONTIAC (WWJ) - Authorities are searching for a man they say shot into a party bus in Pontiac early Sunday morning, and killed two people.
WWJ's Zahra Huber spoke with officials who say it all started when the suspect, armed with a handgun, robbed a man outside of Porky's Bar on Kennett near Baldwin.
People who were inside a party bus at the scene saw the robbery and began yelling.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard says the suspect then started shooting at the bus - killing 19-year-old, Shuntrice Sylvester, and 28-year-old, Anthony Ellis, both from Detroit.
"This kind of action - just this random willingness to purport violence against a bus of people is an extremely disturbed and dangerous person - who needs to be taken off the street," said Bouchard. "Permanently, quite frankly."
"Obviously, there were a lot of people around and even yelling to become a part of the solution and try to scare this guy away, instead it just emboldened him and he became crazier ... and shot into the bus," added Bouchard.
"I have not (seen something like this before) which is what is so concerning to me about the dangerous behavior and frankly the crazy behavior of this individual, The willingness to shoot into a bus of people, makes it a totally different scenario," said Bouchard.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAK UP, a $1,000 reward is now in place in connection with this crime.
