Sheriff: 2 Arrested In Fatal Party Bus Shooting On Crime Spree
PONTIAC (WWJ) - Two men have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting of two people on a party bus in Pontiac.
Craig Lewis, a 22 year-old resident of Taylor and formerly of Pontiac, and Lerrick Myers, a 20 year-old resident of Pontiac will be arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of felony murder and robbery, as well as gun charges.
The 28-year-old Anthony Ellis and 19-year-old Shuntrice Sylvester, who are from Detroit, were fatally shot after witnessing a robbery earlier this month outside Porky's Bikini Bar on Kennett near Baldwin.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard said snippets of surveillance tape picked up the suspects on an apparent crime rampage before the shooting.
Oakland County Sherifff's officias say that, two hours prior to the shooting, both suspects were involved in an argument inside the bar with two patrons and robbed one of the patrons of $300 in cash.
Unaware of the robbery, security escorted all four of them out of the building. While in the parking lot, a physical altercation took place between the suspects and the two patrons. One patron went to his car to retrieve a firearm and was disarmed by the suspects.
Oakland County Sheriff's officials said witnesses on the bus started yelling when they saw what happened. Shots were then fired at the bus, striking Sylvester and Ellis.
Bouchard said the robbery at Porky's was their third that night.
Lewis was out on parole after serving three years in prison for another shooting.
