123.Net to Open Newly Remodeled West Michigan Data Center

SOUTHFIELD -- The Southfield telecommunications company 123.Net announced Friday that it will be celebrating the opening of its newly remodeled West Michigan data center with an exclusive event on Wednesday, April 24 beginning at 3 p.m.

The event will include tours of center and a reception for guests.

The newly remodeled center at 400 76th Street in Byron Center, Michigan, has about 3,500 square feet of data center space and more than 150 cabinets.

The $500,000 upgrade includes a hot/cold aisle design with redundant power and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, security monitoring systems, direct connectivity to 123.Net's facilities in Southfield, and an office area with available conference space.

The project began in June 2012 and will be completed ahead of the April event.

Demand for data center and colocation services is growing across Michigan due to the adoption of  managed cloud services, the necessity for off-site redundancy and security, and the expansion of network providers and digital media companies. 123.Net's four SSAE-16 audited facilities in Michigan offers Michigan companies the opportunity to collocate in world-class data centers without having to go out of the state for redundancy.

"The newly remodeled 123.Net Grand Rapids data center facility allows our business partners to leverage our investment to expand their service offerings and to gain geographical redundancy for their critical infrastructure," said 123.Net channel manager Dave Curran. "Customers can replicate seamlessly from site to site over 123.Net's fiber network with the benefit of utilizing diverse power grids."

123.Net has been successfully providing voice, data, and collocation infrastructure services to enterprises, carriers, ISPs, and technology companies for over 15 years. The company currently operates a 50 gigabit-per-second-plus Internet Protocol network connected to multiple global transit carriers, including Level 3, Savvis, Cogent, Global Crossing, Comcast and others. Four metro fiber rings and long-haul fiber networks span over 1,600 route miles and covers over 50 nodes across Michigan.
