11-Year-Old Missing Almost 1 Year; Family Pleads For Help

DETROIT (WWJ) - The family of a missing 11-year old Detroit girl is pleading for help in finding the child.

And as Newsradio 950's Stephanie Davis reports, the girl has been missing for nearly a year!

Detroit police confirmed that 11-year old Tavia Bently has been away from home since February 25, 2012.

They say she was last seen that day at her guardian's home in the 1800 block of McCormick in the area of east 7 Mile and Moross roads.

Tavia's mother, Katrina Young, heard from Bently back in November.

Bently is just under 5 feet, 70 pounds, brown eyes and black hair.

She was last seen wearing all white clothing, and black & white boots. And officials say Bently was in good physical and mental health.

If you have any information about Tavia Bently please contact the Detroit Police Department's Criminal Investigations at 313-596-5240.
