$10K Reward Offered For Tips In Hit-And-Run Death

TRAVERSE CITY (WWJ/AP) - A $10,000 reward is being offered after a bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Traverse City.

Kelly Ann Boyce died after being hit around 2 a.m. Friday — and police say they are looking for the driver of a dark SUV or pickup truck that fled the scene.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle and MLive.com report the reward is being offered by Boyce's friends and family.

According to Traverse City police, an investigation determined that the 29-year-old was traveling eastbound on the south side of Washington Street, within 12'' of the curb, when she was struck by a vehicle from behind.

She dragged for more than a block to an alley where she was discovered by officers. She was rushed to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.

Investigators say they've been getting tips.

The Traverse City Police Department is asking that anyone with information on this incident contact them.  The detectives assigned to the case can be reached at 231-995-5152 or tipsters may remain anonymous by calling 231-947-TIPS (8477)

Boyce's funeral is scheduled for Thursday.
