$10K In Rewards Offered In U-M Student's Murder
ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - At least $10,000 in reward money is being offered for tips in the murder investigation of a University of Michigan medical student.
Twenty-five-year-old 2nd Lt. Paul DeWolf was attending the Ann Arbor school on an Air Force scholarship. He was found slain July 24 at his off-campus apartment after failing to report for work at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital.
Authorities have released few details of the killing. An autopsy showed DeWolf died from a single gunshot wound. However, police said no firearm was found at DeWolf's apartment, located in the Phi Rho Sigma medical fraternity house.
Ann Arbor police said a $5,000 reward is for "information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect" in DeWolf's death. The university also announced a reward of up to $5,000, matching the other reward.
DeWolf was a 2010 graduate of Grand Valley State University and is from Schoolcraft. He planned to graduate from the medical school next spring.
