10 Arraigned In Detroit Schools Theft
Four of the 10 men charged this week with stealing laptops from various Detroit Public Schools were arraigned Thursday afternoon in 36th District Court including Michigan State University football player Dion Sims.
The 19-year old Sims was released on personal bond.
His attorney, Steve Fishman, said Sims is a good kid.
"This is the first I've ever heard about any gang. The only gang I've ever known Dion Sims to be part of was a football team or a basketball team," Fishman said.
"I'm pretty sure you can take to the bank that he's not part of any, quote, gang," he said.
Sims if facing one charge of receiving and concealing stolen property. However, authorities says some of the others charged in the case are members of and organized theft ring.
