1 Michigan Teen Runaway Found, 2nd Still Missing
BAY CITY (WWJ) - One of two teenage runaways from Michigan has reappeared, very far from home.
Christian Roe, 15, and Olivia Kean, 14 — both from Bay County — have been missing since Oct. 15.
No one heard a word from them until Tuesday night, when Christian called his mother to come pick him up in Jacksonville, Florida, according to Sgt. Mike Sokol is with Midland police.
"According to reports the boy said he was safe, but hurt his ankle and he asked a lady to use her cell phone to call home," Sokol told WWJ's Stephanie Davis. "It's not clear exactly what the two did to survive for nearly a month away from home. "
Sokol said investigators have yet to talk to Chris about where Olivia might be.
"We're still very concerned about Olivia. I mean, she's a 14-year-old girl; she's now on her own, somewhere in Jacksonville, which is a much larger city than what she's used to," Soko said. "There are many, many dangers that she could fall into... There's way too many dangers; and we're really honestly concerned about her and trying to locate her as fast as possible."
The teens took off in the girl's parents' pick-up truck, a 2002 Dodge Ram with license plate WLP50. Neither has a driver's license.
Olivia has blue eyes and blonde hair that was dyed black, and stands 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 95 pounds.
Anyone who has seen Olivia or who has information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Midland Police Department at 989-839-6466 or the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 989-895-4050.
