1 Man Dead After Pushing Car Out Of Snow
VAN BUREN TWP. (WWJ) A 66-year-old Van Buren Township man is dead, believed to be a possible casualty of the snowy weather.
The family of Ron Leppen say he collapsed and died after pushing his daughter's car out of a snow bank.
No word yet on the exact cause of death. Family members say he had no prior medical issues. Leppen is survived by his wife, three children, and 10 grandchildren.
In other areas: Beaumont Hospital has no snow injuries or deaths. The report from the emergency rooms is that they are very slow, but they are expecting an influx tomorrow.
Mt. Clemens Regional reports they had a couple of injuries from car accidents and a sledding injury.
Oakland and Macomb Counties show no snow-related deaths.
Fortunately, the Oakwood emergency departments have not seen an incredible amount of trauma or injuries related to the weather. We have had a few incidents related to shoveling, including one mild heart attack and a few patients have reported with upper respiratory issues and back pain.
