Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV Along Michigan Avenue
DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities say a pedestrian has died after he was struck by an SUV on Detroit's west side.
The accident happened early Tuesday morning in the westbound lanes of Michigan Avenue at West Grand Boulevard.
The victim, an older black male dressed in dark clothing, was apparently walking across the road when he was struck by an SUV. The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. His name has not yet been released.
Westbound Michigan Avenue remains closed to traffic until further notice.
