1 Dead, 1 Injured In Detroit Gas Station Shooting
DETROIT (WWJ) - One young man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting at a Detroit gas station.
According to Detroit police, the two victims got into an argument with some people inside an SUV, late Sunday night, at the Fuel Depot in the 18100-block of West Warren near the Southfield Freeway.
That's when people inside the SUV fired several shots and took off, police said.
One of the victims died at the scene and the other was taken to a local hospital where his condition Monday morning was unknown.
Gas station clerk Mohamed Amari saw what happened.
"I seen the car, basically, after the gunshot he just drove off real fast, right after that gunshot," Amari said. "I think the driver ended up getting shot on the head and ended up crashing into the Fuel Depot, almost hit the fuel pump, and just got lucky he hit the metal thing — because if he would've hit the fuel pump, God knows what would've happened."
Both victims were described as 26-year-old Arab males. Their names were not released.
There have been no arrests as police continue to search for the shooters.
Investigators did not have a description of the suspects but witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a Cadillac Escalade.
