Woman Drives Into Sinkhole After Water Main Breaks In Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Utility were crews on the scene of a sinkhole in Boulder Sunday afternoon.

The sinkhole on Iris Avenue was caused by a water main break under the road and the water was still gushing Sunday evening.

A woman tried to drive through what she thought was shallow water but the front end of her car sank right into the hole. Boulder police say the woman eventually made it out safely.

Both directions of Iris Avenue were closed for repairs. It's not clear how long it will take.
