Woman Accused In Springs Tow Dragging Death In Jail

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A woman accused in the dragging death of a Colorado Springs tow truck driver is behind bars.

Detra Farries was being held in the El Paso County jail Tuesday for allegedly violating conditions of her bond.

The Gazette reported that she apparently moved to Denver without notifying authorities.

She has been charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident in the death of Allen Lew Rose. Investigators say Rose was trying to tow a vehicle on Feb. 23 when a woman got in and drove off. His legs got tangled in the towing cable when he ran after the vehicle.

Farries is being held on $50,000 bond. She is due to appear in court April 15.
