Walk Held To Remember Kenia Monge
DENVER (CBS4) - Gone, but not forgotten. On Sunday dozens of friends and family members walked through Denver to remember Kenia Monge.
The 19-year-old disappeared one year ago Sunday. After a night on the town she met Travis Forbes at a bar. For months Forbes denied having anything to do with her disappearance, but finally he admitted to killing Monge and led police to her body in a Weld County field.
"Instead of reliving the tragedy, celebrating her life with what lives we can affect in the future," Monge's stepfather Tony Lee said.
Walkers wore pink, Monge's favorite color. Her family has started a foundation in her name to help other grieving families.
