Wadhams Running Again For Colorado GOP Chair

DENVER (AP) ― Colorado Republican Party chairman Dick Wadhams is running for re-election.

Wadhams sent a letter Tuesday to state party officials announcing that he will run for another term at the party's central committee meeting in March.

The Colorado GOP came close to losing its majority party status in the November elections when gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes barely got the 10 percent of the vote. Wadhams says he promised to support all Republican candidates and kept his promises, even though Maes and U.S. Senate candidate Ken Buck lost.

Wadhams says he wants the state to have a bigger role in the 2012 presidential race and there are opportunities to win back the state Senate in two years.
