Vail Town Council Considers Ordinance To Help Protect Homes From Wildfires
VAIL, Colo. (CBS4)- Vail is hoping to help homeowners prevent wildfires from encroaching on their properties. The Vail Town Council is considering an ordinance that would require a 5-foot area around all buildings with fire-proof shrubbery.
Non-combustible landscaping is already a prerequisite for new developments.
The new ordinance would expand that requirement to all structures over a 3-year period starting in 2025.
The town council will make a decision in the March 15 meeting.
