US Marshals Join Search For Suspect In 3 Slayings In Rye
PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Federal marshals have joined the search for a 59-year-old handyman suspected of shooting three people to death and setting their Pueblo County home on fire.
Charlie Ahmad of the U.S. Marshals Service in Denver said Wednesday the federal officers are helping Pueblo County deputies look for 59-year-old Harry Carl Mapps.
Ahmad declined to release any details of the hunt.
The sheriff's office said Monday Mapps is the primary suspect in the deaths of 51-year-old Reginald Tuttle, 55-year-old Kim Tuttle and their daughter, 33-year-old Dawn Roderick.
They were found in the remains of a house outside the southern Colorado town of Rye, which burned on Nov. 27.
Investigators say Mapps cashed checks bearing the name of one of the victims in Pueblo and La Junta on the day of the fire.
