Truck Driver Accused Of Crime Spree Charged
DENVER (AP) - A Phoenix truck driver accused of a carjacking and other crimes in northern Colorado has been charged with 32 counts, including attempted first-degree murder of a police officer.
The Weld County district attorney's office says Scott Walker, 47, was also charged Monday with several counts of burglary, attempted aggravated robbery and menacing.
He is being held on $2 million bond and is due in court Jan. 20.
Walker was arrested Dec. 28 at a Greeley-area home where authorities say he smashed through a gate with a stolen cable TV truck and burst into the house. Police say Walker abandoned his semitrailer in Greeley and stole the truck at gunpoint.
He is accused of firing at a sheriff's deputy before surrendering.
