The Liberation Of Nazi Concentration Camps Remembered In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - It's been 70 years since Allied forces liberated Nazi concentration camps in Germany. On Sunday Denver area survivors commemorated the event with a special memorial.
Colorado has a special tie to the liberation. The 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division, was formed from a Colorado National Guard unit. Those soldiers helped free prisoners at Dachau, one of the most infamous concentration camps.
Sunday's remembrance took place at the Hebrew Educational Alliance in Denver.
