Teen Driver Facing Charges After Crashing Into 7-Eleven

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A teenage driver is facing reckless driving charges after allegedly smashing through the front doors of a 7-Eleven convenience store.

Copter4 flew over the scene near Parker and Quincy during rush hour at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

Surveillance video shows the car coming right through the doors.

Everyone inside the 7-Eleven was able to get out safely, including the clerk who said he was thankful he wasn't behind the cash register when the car slammed into it.

He said the driver seemed scared.

"She was looking at me. She was crying and said the breaks weren't working," said the 7-Eleven clerk.

Police believe the 17-year-old driver hit the gas when she should have hit the brakes. The 7-Eleven reopened at midnight.
