Swim Beach At Chatfield Reservoir Closed Due To High Bacteria Levels
LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - Officials at Chatfield State Park have closed the swim beach on Wednesday due to poor water quality.
According to park officials, routine water quality tests detected "higher than allowable bacteria levels."
The closure is limited to the designated swimming area and doesn't affect boating, waterskiing, fishing or picnicking.
"To protect the public, these water quality tests are performed at least once a week," Chatfield State Park Operations Manager Jennifer Anderson said in a statement. "The high levels of the bacteria, E. coli, may have occurred due to recent high temperatures."
