Stick Shift Thwarts Car Thief In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are looking for a man who tried to steal a woman's purse and car but couldn't drive a stick shift.

Police say the man robbed a woman leaving a gas station on Alkire Street in Jefferson County. He got the purse and tried to drive away in her Audi, but the Audi had a manual transmission the thief couldn't figure out, so he ran away with the purse.

The woman got a good look at the suspect and was able to provide an artist with a description. Anyone who recognizes a suspect is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
