Springs Police Release Sketch Of Supect In Sex Assault Of Girl

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado Springs police have released a sketch of a suspect who they say violently assaulted a 12-year-old girl.

Police said on Oct. 25 around 8 a.m. the girl was violently assaulted in the area of 400 East Brookside Street.

"The victim was walking to her school bus stop when she was grabbed by a stranger. Although she struggled to free herself, she was overpowered by the suspect and physically and sexually assaulted," police said in a statement.

The suspect was observed in the area one to two hours preceding the assault. He's described as a white man with pale skin, 20 to 28 years old, 5-foot-6 with short brown hair. He was wearing black sunglasses, a dirty and worn dark brown baseball cap with yellow writing, a puffy black jacket with a forest green plaid lining, a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath his jacket, baggy blue jeans and a gold necklace that hung about mid chest.
